Hi, I’m Renae - photographer, mum of three, and the heart, eyes and hands behind Dreamscapes Imagery.

Dreamscapes began in Darwin, NT, from a love of capturing the moments that don’t always feel significant while they’re happening - little hands wrapped around yours, belly laughs, windswept hair, cuddles, chaos and all the tiny details that change far too quickly.

I’ve never been drawn to perfectly posed photographs or everyone looking at the camera with their best smile. I want to capture your family as you really are. The connection. The movement. The personalities. The beautiful in-between moments that tell your story.

My approach is relaxed and documentary-inspired, with a touch of the whimsical, nostalgic feel that has always been at the heart of Dreamscapes.

And then life took us somewhere new...

In January 2026, my own family decided to do something a little different. We packed up our home in Darwin, moved into our caravan and set off with our three kids to travel Australia.

And Dreamscapes came with us.

Instead of photographing families in one little corner of the country, I now open a limited number of sessions in the towns and communities we visit along the way.

It means the backdrop is always changing. One week we might be surrounded by bushland, another beside the ocean, a river or somewhere completely unexpected.

But what I’m looking for through my camera hasn’t changed at all.

Beautiful light. Genuine connection. Little personalities. Real moments.

And photographs that, years from now, take you straight back to this season of your family’s life.
